Plums are stone fruits with a sweet , vibrant flavor offset by a sharp, tarty & astringent skin. This juicy fruit is known to have been the first fruits domesticated by humans.  This Indian variety has a maroon- purplish outer skin and golden-brown flesh. The fresh and juicy flavor of plum makes it an energizing fruit to eat. It is also a great source of vitamins such as vitamin C,K and folate.

The Chinese were the first to cultivate plums in 470 BC. Confucius, a well known chinese philospher wrote of them in his Aspen-plum poem. Each region has cultivated their own distinct variety - South Asia cultivated the Cherry Plum (Prunus cerasifera),European Plum(Prunus Domestica) and America bred the American plum (Prunus Americana).
